Tell us a little bit about yourself
Oh man, well my name is Sarah, I have a degree in psychology and am super random. I’m rarely serious and enjoy tattoos. Val is pretty much the same person as I am, except she has an art degree. We’re creepishly alike and often show up to shoots wearing pretty much the same thing. We met in Virginia Beach a few years ago and naturally formed into a business partnership.
What did you want to be as a child?
No clue. All through high school and college I wanted to be a sex therapist. No joke.
How did you get into photography?
A family friend bought me a film camera in high school and I decided to take photography as my art because the other art class sucked hardcore.
How would you define your style?
Creative, Honest and 100% client driven. Even though everyone and their mother uses the word honest.
What sort of photography do you mainly do?
Weddings and in home lifestyle
Color or black and white?
Color for the most part.
What light conditions you are like the most and why?
Ambient light inside. Because it’s untouched and sets the entire situation. It forces you to get creative and push your boundries.
What qualities must have a good photographer?
Someone who believes in what they do 100% and follows their heart to provide art to a client.
What is the best thing about your job?
Showing everyone, no matter who they are, how beautiful they look. Even when they’re sad, mad, or happy.
Is there the perfect photo?
Yes. One that evokes so much emotion that you can’t stop staring at it.
